Express Newspapers chooses Multimedia Content Store from dutchsoftware.com
KROMMENIE, THE NETHERLANDS (December 18, 2007) — dutchsoftware.com has been selected to supply Express Newspapers’ new Multimedia Content Store, for the central storage of produced stories, pictures, audio and movies. With an average daily sale approaching two million copies, Express Newspapers is one of the largest newspaper publishing companies in the UK and one of the larger additions to the growing group of international dutchsoftware.com customers.

The system will be used to archive all of the Express Newspapers’ publications, including its two popular daily newspapers (Daily Express and Daily Star); several regional editions; a weekly digest for the expatriate market in Europe; and several magazine titles, including OK!, a hugely successful publication with a global audience. It will also be used to archive web content and digitized historical material.

“We are convinced the Media Content Archive is a huge step forward in our archiving, retrieval and syndication process,” said Steve Draper, IT Director at the Express. “Dutchsoftware.com proved to have the perfect solution for us to archive our content. It’s completely integrated with industry standard systems like Woodwing’s Smart Connection Enterprise, archives Multimedia channels automatically and offers the content to our users instantly”.

Officials from dutchsoftware.com were quoted to be very excited about Express Newspapers’ decision: “It’s one of the largest and leading Newspaper publishers in the UK” said Bastiaan Born, Commercial Director for dutchsoftware.com “ Their need for a flexible Content Archive was an instant match for our solution”.

Media Systems Limited secured the deal in which the Archive is offered in conjunction with Woodwing’s award winning Smart Connection Enterprise editorial workflow suite. Also part of the system is the wire feed management solution Fingerpost.
