KROMMENIE, THE NETHERLANDS (December 18, 2007) — dutchsoftware.com has been selected to supply Express Newspapers’ new Multimedia Content Archive, for the central storage of produced stories, pictures, audio and movies. With an average daily sale approaching two million copies, Express Newspapers is one of the largest newspaper publishing companies in the UK and one of the larger additions to the growing group of international dutchsoftware.com customers.

The system will be used to archive all of the Express Newspapers’ publications, including its two popular daily newspapers (Daily Express and Daily Star); several regional editions; a weekly digest for the expatriate market in Europe; and several magazine titles, including OK!, a hugely successful publication with a global audience. It will also be used to archive web content and digitized historical material.

Media Systems Limited secured the deal in which the Archive is offered in conjunction with Woodwing’s award winning Smart Connection Enterprise editorial workflow suite. Also part of the system is the wire feed management solution Fingerpost.

Beste Henry,

NetPublishEnterprise werkt momenteel alleen onder Windows of OS X. We hebben tests gedaan met Windows draaiend onder VMWare op een linux bak. Dat werkt zonder problemen.

In theorie is Linux support voor NPE mogelijk. Het enige probleem is de manier waarop de fileserver share gemount wordt, deze is anders dan onder Windows of OS X. De huidige versie van NPE kan daardoor de originele beelden en de previews niet vinden.
Omdat voor NPE ook een Portfolio server nodig is (Portfolio ondersteund alleen Windows en OS X) zal er toch altijd een Windows server nodig blijven voor het Portfolio deel.

Is het mogelijk om NetPublish Enterprise (version 1.7.4 build 123), aan de praat te krijgen onder linux i.c.m. met tomcat 5.5?
Wij willen namelijk NetPublish graag virtualiseren, maar kunnen dit momenteel alleen nog met linux.

De packages die ik geinstaleerd heb zijn:
Tomcat 5.5
MyODBC (Mysql ODBC Driver voor java)
MySQL 5.0 (Server & Common)


Maar elke keer als ik de war wil uitrollen krijg ik:
